Sustainable Architects Design

Our Sustainable Architects have 35 years experience in housing, designing for social, market and commercial sectors. Now based in Eastbourne we provide environmentally conscious architectural design and specifications for your project, guide you through planning application and approval, and even manage the build process to completion if required.

We have particular experience in obtaining planning approval in difficult applications, having obtained listed buildings conversion consent and approval in conservation areas, previously converting an old cock fighting pit into a bungalow.

We are also experienced in designing for difficult sites, where space or levels may be an issue. A recent social housing development used an innovative 2-level design to work with the extreme levels on-site.

Residential & Commercial

Our sustainable architects portfolio has included conventional houses, conversions, Art deco and International style extensions, a listed ancient thatch cottage, a large detached Ecohome and Social housing developments making use of mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR).

For the commercial sector, our sustainable design team has designed department stores, building societies and retail outlets as well as office fit outs and exhibitions.

Rehabilitation

Now based in Sussex Bill Brown RIBA has worked with tenants’ associations on the conversion of flats to their brief and (as Director of Housing in Oxford) enabled the first tenant designed housing scheme.
